It's time.
I just need to sit down and do it.
There.
I actually did it.
Being the wonderful
procrastinator person that I am, I wasn't sure how it was going to go. But go it went.
I FINALLY typed my first blog sentence ever. I had set up this page WEEKS ago, so that it would be ready for when I typed my first
awe-inspiring blog post.
And there it sat. And sat. And sat.
So much so, that everytime I was on one of my mommy groups and my dear hubby would see a picture of our family/kids/us, he would start to ask me "so you finally got your blog going?"
Umm...sure.
I found myself coming up with MANY insightful, inspiring, witty, awesome topics to blog about, but couldn't do ANY of them until I did THE FIRST ONE.
So here it is. I found this about as difficult to do as any of my papers I had to write during my school days. Once I get the first sentence out, the words would just flow from pen to paper. (yes, yes, I am about as old as dirt.) I struggled with this first sentence. So instead of dealing with it, I just did what I normally do.
I procrastinated. Shocker, I know. I used the excuse that I needed to "peruse" more blogs first, to get a feel. A feel for what, I have no idea. I just know that it sounded good.
So I guess to get this blog off on the right start, I should begin with an introduction of the [soon to be - though unknowingly] main characters of this blog......and to put my blog title in English too. (I
suppose that would help.)
The title:
Chez' Bichet is French for "House of Bichet" (though this particular spelling of Bichet is not how we spell our last name, but for all intense purposes, it's pronounced "Bi-shay". Shay Bi-shay, House of Bishay.)
The sub-title:
Entre Nous is French for "Between Us". We're not French, but because I titled my blog after a phrase my husband always used to say that IS French, I just thought that the French version for 'between us' flowed better. And I liked that saying 'entre nous' (pronounced "on-tray new"). Because this [hopefully] over time is something that will be shared 'between us'.
There are 5 main characters - besides myself - that I'm sure will come up QUITE A FEW times.
First is my dear Husband, db.

A wonderful, hard working man with gorgeous eyes and incredibly LONG eyelashes (that THANKFULLY my children inherited from him instead of me). Works very hard at his 2+ jobs so that I can stay at home for the toddlers and help out with the teens by being available for them. Very dedicated to God and his family. I am very blessed to be married to him.
First in line of our peeps, is our oldest son, Bentley.

A senior in high school. An
employed-with-his-own-vehicle, senior. A trumpet player in band. Very gifted naturally, that
refuses thinks he doesn't need to practice type-gifted player. Smart, yet has an IEP for a learning disability, quiet, reflective, and an all around good kid. Funny as all git out, in a weird, Monty Python sense of humor way.
Next is Rooney.

A sophomore in school. A football-playing-I'm-way-cool-joker-of-the-class-kid. LOVES any sport - watching or playing - but football is number 1 with him. Then he also wrestles and plays church basketball during the winter, and runs track in the spring. He is in all the advanced honor classes, and breezes his way through them, so not your typical "jock". VERY outgoing, personable, and has a heart bigger than Texas. Will help you out in a pinch, lend you his ear, even give you his last piece of gum! He's an "old soul" in a young body. Very insightful, wise beyond his years, and cool to talk to too!
Those are our teens, now onto our toddlers.
First in line of our second generation of kids is Noni. (non-nee)

The princess of the family. The sweet girl with the long lashes and mesmerizing eyes. Very, very shy in public, but can perform a whole vaudeville act at home without even batting one of those lashes of hers.
Last, but definitely let's us know that he is not least in any way, is Bubba, baby of the family.

Not to be outdone by anyone, he HAD TO make his appearance in this world on the SAME DAY as his sister's
1st birthday! YES. I get those double looks and question a lot. "Ma'am, were they REALLY born on the SAME DAY ONLY A YEAR APART?" Umm...No. I just like to write the birthdays that way to see what kind of reaction I'll get. OF COURSE they were. Otherwise I wouldn't have written it that way. er. So Bubba has QUITE the personality. He is a very happy toddler. Finds humor in EVERYTHING. He is like a swing when wound extra tight and then is let go. Walking is not an option. He has two speeds. Fast and forward. CONSTANT motion - beyond hyperactive. Whew!
If you have made it this far, thank you thank you thank you!! I already like you.
Wow! Longer than I expected (but that's normal for me). How'd I do for my first outing?
